If you have doubts about skips, read this FAQ:
What are skips?
If for any reason you cannot write a story for any one round you can use a skip to have your name saved for the next one, instead of dropping out.
How do I earn skips?
Each participant receive one skip on signing up. More skips are gained by pimping the comm somewhere else (like in your Livejournal).
What happens if I forget to skip the round and don't write a story?
If you fail to submit the story in the due date and forgot to skip the round, a mod will use any skips you have to save you, but if don’t have any skips left, I’m sorry, but you won’t continue to the next round.
How many times can I skip rounds?
As many times as you need as long as you have skips, but be careful. You can't simply skip all rounds and only participate on the last one just to win the challenge. The point here is to have fun, write and improve your writing, not winning.
How should my pimping post look like?
There is an example, along with the code ready to copy and paste, further down.
Can I pimp the comm anywhere or just on Livejournal?
You can post on other sites as well, but only members of Livejournal can participate of the challenges and vote.
Can I pimp after sign ups close?
You can pimp at any time you want. After the sign ups close you can pimp the comm inviting people to read the fics and vote (remember that you can't tell which story is yours until the voting closes).
Can I create my own banner?
If you want to help out you can. Simply make an art pimping the comm and send it to me via private message. If I like it enough for posting, you'll earn a skip.
Banners made by x_erikah_x.
To pimp just copy and paste everything below into your LJ, no editing necessary. If you want to choose any of the banners above instead of the standard, simply replace the standard comm banner ulr by one of the urls of the banners above.
It will look like this:
SGA LFWS GEN VERSION
ARTISTS SIGN UPS STILL OPEN
Sign ups open for artists at sga_lfws!
LFWS stands for Last Fic Writer Standing. If you’re familiar with the LIMS in many icon making comms you know what this is about, but if you’re not this is how it works:
The challenge is composed of rounds. On each round the participants will have to write a story following a general prompt. Participants have a week to write something, so the fics will be short. Usually drabbles or something of the sort. The stories will be submitted to the mods and will be posted anonymously. Then the stories are voted. The voters will select their favorite and least favorite story, and can give reasons for the votes (always with constructive criticism, bashing and voting for yourself are not allowed). After the round of votes, one winner for the round will be announced, and one writer will be eliminated and not continue to the next round. No need to be afraid about not continuing, it is a natural part of the process. This will continue for as many rounds as necessary, until there is only one writer standing, which will be selected the Last Fic Writer Standing.
